Britain’s Next Top Model | Princess Hair

Mr Edmonds and his fabulous team of experts from Paul Edmonds London, luxury hair and beauty emporium, were out in force for the first day of Britain’s Next Top Model series 12 filming. The stylists, currently located at our hairdressers in Knightsbridge arrived at Kings Cross Station for 6.50am where they boarded a coach with the BNTM filming crew and team and set off for Chelmsford, Essex. The crew, arrived at the beautiful Hylands House Estate, a grade 2 neo-classical villa situated in Hylands Park. The house and grounds were absolutely stunning, the perfect surroundings for a fairy tale…

The team met with Abbey Clancy, head judge, personal friend and client of our hair and beauty salon in London. The beautiful settings of Hylands House inspired Abbey’s hair and Paul created wavy princess locks.

Paul recommends prepping the hair with Essence Absolute for heat protection. The hair is then tonged into curls about ¾ of the way down the hair however the ends were only pulled through so they remained straight. Paul continued this around the head to create 1 wave. Once tonged, the hair was blow-dried into place and  Shu Uemura sheer lacquer hair spray is recommend to set and finish.

It was then time for Abbey to film her entrance to Hylands House in preparation for meeting the girls for the first time. Paul was on hand back stage to ensure Abbey’s hair was camera ready.

It was then time to meet the girls!

Glam Time!

The series 12 girls arrived into hair and make up looking terrified but they were in the safest of hands with the BNTM glam squad! Paul and Lee introduced the team and we couldn’t wait to get our hands on all their beautiful hair! Paul had his fabulous styling experts Catherine and Polly on hand to create beautiful fairytale looks for the girls!

The girls were put into beautiful dresses, they truly looked like they were in their own BNTM fairy tale. They described the behind the scenes as a giant princess sleepover! The girls were shooting with a male model…but did they REALLY know who he was?!

The Paul Edmonds London team created curls, braids and waves to ensure the girls looked like they had walked straight into a fairytale world. Paul and the team recommend the following products to create these looks at home…

Shop The Look

Shu Uemura Detail Master for styles that can be maintained throughout the day, for a workable high hold and shine £22.00.

Shu Uemura Kaze Wave Curl Foam, defines sensual and glamorous curls while adding shine and texture £16.75

Shu Uemura Kengo Feather Styling Cream provides a strong, lasting hold providing softness and shine £22.00

The fairytale was about to take a nasty turn… it was time for not 1 but 2 girls to be eliminated! The judges lined the princesses up and their BNTM fate was left in the hands of Abbey, Nicky and Max…the secret new judge who the girls had been shooting with all day!

Tiaras were placed on the heads of the girls who were allowed to stay but unfortunately the two did not make the cut and left the competition immediately.

The girls then were off to the model house of series 12!
