January 9th 2018 at 195 Piccadilly London, saw The British Academy Film and Television Arts announce the nominations for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2018. Paul Edmonds London, the Official Hair Partner was there every step of the way…even at the 5am start!
Mr Edmonds and Emma from Paul Edmonds London, arrived at BAFTA to prep and style the stars ready for the film nominations conference, broadcasting live at 7am. As they arrived there was huge speculation surrounding who would be the brand new BAFTA host, taking over from previous, Stephen Fry. With it being 100 years since women in the UK were given the vote, many were wondering if the ‘year of the women’ would reflect BAFTA’s chosen host for 2018. Keep reading to find who Mr Edmonds styled for the big announcement!
From 5.30am guests began to arrive into hair and make up. Natalie Dormer, known for her roles in The Hunger Games and Game of Thrones was first to see Mr Edmonds. Natalie opted for a bouncy glamorous curl for volume and shine. Throughout the morning, Mr Edmonds and Emma prepped VIPs, ensuring they were camera ready for the live broadcast.
As time got closer to the nominations, the new film awards host was revealed to the team…the legendary Joanna Lumley! How ‘absolutely fabulous!’ The renowned actress took to Paul’s chair and both Mr Edmonds and Joanna prepped for the awaiting announcement.
The time drew closer and the audience took to their seats. Our fellow EE British Academy Film Awards partners provided lovely refreshments for the morning. Coffee from Nespresso, still and sparkling water from San Pellegrino and BAFTA head chocolates from Hotel Chocolat.
The press were set up, the live broadcasting had begun and the nominations were announced…
